Fiction 55 Friday!!

His muscular form stood astride the iron beam high atop the horizon in the sunrise. Sparks flew and cascaded, bouncing off the cement below as if rain danced in the cool morning air. There is something so inspiring about a man, a machine and steel…all silhouetted in the sky above. Oh my, those construction workers!!

I've Been Tagged!!

I've been tagged...thanks, Wordi!! The topic is "5 things that I do, did or like that I’m proud of, but that others may think are totally lame."

1. I have made homemade Halloween costumes for my kids that I thought were totally cute and imaginative - but my kids have recited several times about the 'special' costume I made them wear.

2. I like to write poetry - especially in an 'ode' form for special people to celebrate different occasions.

3. I like to sing - but rather make a 'joyful noise'.

4. Though I may not show it, I enjoy being romantic...and having that feeling returned.

5. I like to get up early on Saturday mornings to read the paper and work the crossword - and hate it when I can't get the whole thing done!!

Its Time for 55 Fiction Friday...and a Seussical Moment!!

The minutes seem like hours until I see you again. Laughing, joking and cutting up are simply ‘just you’. I can’t help but wonder what will be next. Dinner for two? A cocktail party? Snuggling down in front of the TV to watch some football? I’ll consider them all - but only with you, Rachel Ray.

And for my wordi-friend on the right...a tribute to HER poetry:

It seems that, my friend of blog- wordi-girl fame
You could be poet laureate – just one in the same
As that Seus-icall guy - as a tot you adored
By your rhyme and wording, I now am quite floored.
I love to write poetry – it’s just so relaxing
Especially after a day that’s been taxing
To take all your thoughts and give them a spin
And see the results give to someone a grin.
Keep up the rhyming with any words that you please
Putting forth that Seuss effort with a snicker or sneeze!
Get Grinched-Up and think of the Cat-In-The-Hat
Ah, the simple times – what could be better than that!!

55 Fiction Friday!

Its time for 55 Fiction Friday! Here's my latest attempt at a story of 55 words:

Pitched forward in her seat and cupping her hand over her eyes to divert the sun, she felt compelled to scream. The noise was deafening, yet appealing, as she swelled with pride. Crisp, clean lines formed on the field below, then broke free chaotically. Vicious attacks were eminent as her son scrambled for safety. Touchdown!

Haiku Comment on Egg Haiku from Ms. Wordy's Blog

I love this omlete
Though not from the skillet now
Blogged - less calories

All things considered...

All things considered....its the start of a beautiful day. The morning brings a lower temperature...only 57!! The afternoon will see highs in the 80s...so much for my weather report. Too bad I have to be at work all day, but this evening I'll see my friends for 'game night' and that's always fun. Looking forward to the weekend - and hard to believe L&J have been married a year!! This past weekend has brought a smile to my face on more than one occasion, and some really nice dreams - so nice that I don't get up when I should! Oh well, daydreams are good too!

Time for 55 Fiction Fridays!

My wordy friend on the right knows the way
To an escape I can find on every Friday
Just 55 words tell a story, tell all
Give it a try and you'll have a ball!

Sickies!

Allergies are among us...and how! This weekend I was sick with a sore throat - a bad one. Gargled, drank hot tea with honey, chloraseptic sore throat strips...and plenty of sleep...and yes, I even drank water. Yuck! Two days of it and almost lost my voice. My throat doesn't hurt any more, but now I have the cough - you know, the one that feels like you're coughing up your toenails...in the middle of the night, or in the shower, or anywhere else it happens to 'catch' you unaware. I am taking medicine and trying to not let this turn in to my 'favorite' thing - pneumonia!! I do NOT like being a 'sickie'...but I guess I like to blog about it anyway. At least I am not a SICK-O!
