An Ode to Our Bears, by yours truly
Baylor Lady Bears – unfinished business – NO MORE
With game # 40–and a National Champion score!
All season long this squad worked as a team
All eyes on the Bears and Coach Mulkey, their queen!
National coach of the year and the best player, too?
Yes sir, we’ve got them, right here at BU!
The pressure:consistent. The charge: relentless.
Opponents came hungry, yet left powerless.
Lady Bears in their pewter, white, gold or green
Would repeatedly present a calm, focused scheme
To play the game right with their coach in the lead
And take another step in the quest for top seed.
There’s no “I” in team and Lady Bears know
With each success was a reason to grow.
One Baylor Nation, united by fans
From across the nation, they filled the stands.
Across the sports spectrum, from field, team or crew
The cheers rang out as the impressive stats grew!
Multiple teams with final national ranking
Gave way to grins and high-fives for thanking!
What a great year for Baylor, and folks everywhere
Who wear green and gold – ain’t it great to be a Bear?
So congrats and “Sic ‘em Bears”, wherever you might be
Let’s give praise to God and our University!
